Katie serves as Program Director at HandsOn Twin Cities, where she leads the nonprofit membership program and delivery of services to HandsOn members and nonprofit partners. In this role, Katie develops strategies and partnerships that help nonprofits build capacity through volunteer engagement. She also manages the searchable volunteer opportunity database, communications to nonprofits, and supports other nonprofit capacity-building initiatives/training/consulting. Katie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

 Katie joined HandsOn Twin Cities over 20 years ago when it was the Volunteer Center in St. Paul at that time. Over the years, Katie managed numerous programs and staff, including AmeriCorps, Service Enterprise, various events and special projects, and office operations.  Katie’s experience in the nonprofit sector includes providing technical support, implementing successful membership recruitment and engagement strategies, developing strong relationships, organizing and managing events, and developing and delivering training. Before her career in the nonprofit sector, she also worked for Target Corporation and the University of Minnesota.

In her free time, Katie is an outdoor enthusiast who loves to garden and explore new walking trails. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga, baking, and expressing her creativity through pottery, crafts, and house projects.
